First of all must go
Your scent upon my pillow
And then
I'll say goodbye to your whispers in my dreams.
And then our lips will part
In my mind and in my heart,
Cos your kiss
Went deeper than my skin.
Piece by piece is how I'll let go of you
Kiss by kiss
Will leave my mind one at a time
One at a time
First of all must fly,
My dreams of you and I,
There's no point of holding on to those
And then our ties will break,
For your and my own sake,
Just remember,
This is what you chose
Piece by piece
Is how I'll let go of you
Kiss by kiss, will leave my mind one at a time
One at a time
I'll shed like skin,
Our memories of lazy days,
And fade away the shadow of your face
Piece by piece
Is how I'll let go of you
Kiss by kiss,
Will leave my mind one at a time
One at a time
One at a time
One at a time...
Katie Melua, Piece by Piece
It's always good to have a plan. Some people prefer not to have plans at all, as they claim to get by without them. They live by the day because they can, or they live by the day because they feel too inadequate to even consider the future. I still think some form of planning, even plotting, is needed. As Tolkien puts it: "It will not do to leave a live dragon out of your plans if you live near one."
Well, you could also move.
But even if you moved, the dragon would still somehow pop up. I think it was in latin class, when I was about 16, that I once read a piece by Seneca in which he said that no matter how far you travelled, you always take your problems with you.
And, yep, he was right. The dragon always does seem to pop up somehow.
It could be in a song, while driving in a white Ambassador somewhere in India, while smelling the cow dung boiling on the highway. It could be on top of a mountain in Machupichu, Peru, while you realize you're standing in the middle of a cloud. It could be while looking out over the Tuscan hillside, observing all the various tones of brown and far in the distance the approaching rain...
But don't let that stop you from travelling, though, even if you do have problems. Travelling makes you see things in a different perspective and, even if in the end it may or may not help you to eventually get to resolution, you will feel a little different. Richer of soul, I have found.

Invincibile
Credi di essere
Come la sabbia
di volta in volta
sprofondata dalle onde
violente del mare
Con ogni sorso della vita
amara piu' ricca
credi di essere troppo
conscia di ogni movimento
ti giri e rigiri cercando
e sempre poi riesci a trovare
il senso perso e cosi'
vagando sali sul prossimo treno
che ti portera' solo Dio sa dove
Ed ogni posto ti sembra
prezioso nella sua bruttezza
bellezza invincibile
credi di essere
vedendo tutto quello che
non c'e'
