Een regenboog over de Dam

Er staat een regenboog boven de dam. Het is een perfecte boog met prachtige vage kleuren. Het is avond, de zon is verborgen, het regent niet waar wij staan. Het avondlicht is warm en geeft ons een gloed. Een beschermend laagje vernis. Meerdere mensen maken foto's, anderen lopen door alsof de regenboog er niet is. Misschien niet omdat ze hem niet mooi vonden maar omdat ze hem simpelweg niet zagen! Hoe vaak zie je dingen niet omdat je teveel gefocused bent op iets anders? Het is me zelf vaak overkomen. Ik was dan bijvoorbeeld veel te veel bezig met mezelf en met de indruk die ik op anderen maakte of ik maakte me juist te druk om anderen. Om wat ze voelden en wat ze wilden en wat ze dachten en wat ze deden. Nu ben ik er ondertussen achter dat dit allemaal nutteloos is en dat je op die manier jezelf juist verwaarloost omdat je die 'zelf' niet voedt met al het moois wat zomaar voor het oprapen ligt. Toch blijft het moeilijk want ik wil zoveel. En ik wil dat alles wat ik wil nu begint, niet ooit! Want het leven is zo kort! Ik wil er niet op wachten, ik wil het beinvloeden terwijl het soms beter is om te drijven in plaats van te zwemmen. Maar daar heb ik het geduld niet voor. Zo ben ik eigenlijk.

Nu wil ik bijvoorbeeld graag weten of de lucht echt zo mooi was, die vrijdag avond in Amsterdam, of dat het alleen in mijn perceptie zo was. Maar wat is het verschil? Het maakt niet uit, want hoe dan ook, ik heb het gezien, ik heb het gevoeld, ik heb het geroken, dus het was zo!
